How long does a boiler last?
Cast-iron boilers commonly run 20–30 years with annual care; high-efficiency condensing models typically 15–20. If yours is in that range and needing regular repairs, replacement planning beats an emergency swap in January.
Is a condensing boiler worth it?
Often, yes — condensing models capture heat that standard boilers send up the flue. But they only deliver that efficiency when the system around them (piping, water temperatures, controls) is designed for it. That system design is exactly what we do; we’ll tell you honestly if your home is a good candidate.
How long does replacement take?
A straightforward swap typically takes one to two days. Conversions, zoning changes, or steam-to-hydronic redesigns take longer — you’ll get a clear timeline with your quote.
Can you replace my steam boiler with the same type?
Yes. Steam-to-steam replacement is routine for us, sized from a radiator survey (the correct method for steam). We’ll also give you a straight answer on whether staying with steam or converting makes better long-term sense for your house.
